When I first heard the Heschl HAL350 amplifier I couldn’t believe my ears. Until you hear it all this text is just poetry. The unbelievable aspect of this amp is, and I’ve no idea how Rod managed to do this, but the experience is like taking you back in time in a good way.
The problem with all analog recording medium is that the copy is never as good as the original. With each generation you lose dynamics, frequency response, increased noise, and loss of definition. When listening to a phonograph record through this amplifier it feels like I am now listening to the quarter inch master tape from which the record was cut! When listening to a CD it’s as though you are now listening to the original master tape. If playing the mix master half inch tape it’s as though you are now listening to the mix straight off the original mix bus.
I don’t know how this is possible but you’ve got to listen to this amplifier. It takes you one generation closer to the original music. (But don’t ask me how.)
